Acupuncture & Oriental Medicine
Traditional Oriental Medicine including acupuncture, cupping, auricular therapy, herbal medicine, and scalp needling — restoring balance and relieving pain naturally.
Oriental Medicine at QFMC
QFMC utilizes the method of traditional Oriental Medicine including acupuncture and herbal medicine. It provides balance, regulation, and coordination of physiological processes by stimulating appropriate acu-points. These treatments help restore sufficient, continuous, and even flow of Qi and other nutrients throughout the body — restoring health and balance while relieving pain and other symptoms.
Treatment Modalities

Acupuncture
A health science used to treat both pain and dysfunction. Needles are placed at specific points along meridians to rebalance the flow of Qi (energy). Works in harmony with the body's circulatory, nervous, muscular, digestive, and all other systems.
Needles remain in place for about 15-20 minutes. Insertion goes unnoticed by some; others feel a small pinch followed by tingling, numbness, ache, traveling warmth, or heaviness.

Cupping Therapy
An ancient Chinese medicine treatment using glass cups suctioned to the skin to mobilize blood flow, promote healing, and reduce stagnation of Qi. Helps eliminate toxins, relieve congestion, improve circulation, and relieve muscle tension.
Cupping may leave red or purple circles that heal within a few days — this indicates stagnant blood being drawn out. As patients improve, marks become less prominent. Most describe the pain level as minimal.

Auricular Therapy
Based on the idea that the ear is a microsystem representing the entire body. Stimulates various organs and meridians by targeting specific points on the ear. The ear represents a fetus in an inverted position — a microcosm of the macrocosm.
A treatment takes 20-30 minutes, typically twice a week for 2-3 weeks. Very effective for stress, depression, insomnia, anxiety, pain relief, and addiction recovery.

Herbal Medicine
Natural healing based on 'Harmony Healing Treatment' which aims to balance disharmony in Qi through herbal therapy. Dr. Lee does a thorough health assessment before writing any supplement prescription, always accounting for allergies.
Herbal therapy addresses acute and chronic conditions and is effective for general health maintenance, improving energy, and slowing the aging process. Safer and gentler than pharmaceuticals with rare side effects.
Scalp Needling
A specialized acupuncture technique targeting specific zones on the scalp that correspond to different brain functions and body areas. Used to treat neurological conditions and enhance overall brain function.
Conditions Treated
Acupuncture can treat well over one hundred different conditions. These include:
My allergies were nearly debilitating, and I went the standard pharmaceutical route — prescription antihistamines, eyedrops, you name it… nothing helped. And then, I went to see Dr. Lee. His acupuncture treatment and simple diet changes have changed my life. I haven't touched a Claritin or Allegra pill since.

Frequently Asked Questions
The number of treatments varies based on different conditions and individuals. Chronic problems generally require more treatment than acute ones. Some patients notice immediate improvement after the first treatment, while others may not notice an effect until the seventh or eighth visit. A small number of patients will experience a temporary worsening of symptoms as the body's energies return to normal — this is normal and no cause for alarm.
Insertion of the slender needles goes unnoticed by some. Others feel a small pinch followed by a sensation of tingling, numbness, ache, traveling warmth, or heaviness. Sometimes people feel Qi moving at a distance from the point of insertion. Needles remain in place for about 15 to 20 minutes.
The red or purple circles left by cupping indicate areas of stagnant blood and body fluids being drawn to the surface. Marks typically heal within a few days. As patients improve with each treatment, the marks become less and less red. The darkness of the marks tells the practitioner about the severity of stagnation in that area.
Yes. Acupuncture has been shown to be effective for allergy relief. One of our patients, who had tried every pharmaceutical route including prescription antihistamines and eyedrops with no relief, found that acupuncture treatment and simple diet changes completely resolved their debilitating allergies.
